Good Luck for your exams!

Here are some  basic guidelines and tips to help you gear up for the competition:

1.Start with the basics, be thorough with your class XI and XII NCERT syllabus and then move on to reference books, sample papers and mock tests.

2. Set a time frame for each subject, plan your study routine and revise from time to time.

3.Develop your own studying style, attach reference to important points, devise your own flow-charts, try breaking difficult terms into simpler forms,e.g., Asclepiadaceae into As-cle-pia-da-ceae, jot down highlights at one place to refer from time to time.

4.Analyse your weak areas and work to concentrate on your limiting spots.

5. Try to ascertain the trend in the recent exams, there are always areas which are given more importance, hot and current topics,e.g., environmental concerns, biotechnology and genetic engineering, quantum physics etc etc. Focussed study always
is more fruitful and effective.

6. Keep the negative marking in mind.Try attempting questions you are confident and sure of as negative scoring can prove to be very damaging to your overall performance.

7. Since all of you are preparing for medical entrance exams, its taken for granted that biology/life sciences would be your forte. In a competition, you have to score over others so it would help if you now aim to strengthen your chemistry and physics.

8. Maintain a practice and study routine, study mostly when you can concentrate because quality study for few hours is anytime better than staring at books for the entire day without understanding/retaining anything.

So plan, practice and prepare well!
